About PORTALS:

The journey of PORTALS began in July 2023, when we spent a day wandering through a meadow and dried-up creek bed in Orcutt, CA. With field recorders in hand, we captured the whisper of wind through tall grass, the crunch of dry earth beneath our feet, and the distant chime of church bells. These textures lit a spark that became the foundation for what would follow.

Built from field recordings, found sounds, and traditional instrumentation, PORTALS is a sonic journal—an immersive collection shaped by memory, landscape, and curiosity. From the meadows of California to the glacial waters of Alaska, these pieces reflect the spaces that moved us and the creative process that connected us.
